How to Find Township, Range, and Section Numbers

Like any other features on our map you can easily view the Township, Range, and Section Numbers for any parcel of land right on your GPS. Check out the screen shots below for examples on how to view this feature.   • Option 1: Each section of land has a black dot located in the middle of the section. To view the Township, Range, and Section number, simply select the black dot with your finger to place the red pushpin on the dot. (See 1A in Figure 1) The info will then be displayed in the status bar at the top of the screen. (See1B in Figure 1)
  • Option 2: You can also view the Township, Range, and Section number for any parcel by selecting the 'enter' button on your GPS. With the pushpin located on the area of interest, select the enter button, which is the 3 line horizontal button located at the top right of the screen. (See 2A of Figure 2.) This will display a list containing all of the information for the location you have selected. (See 2B of Figure 2) To exit out of this list, hit the back arrow at the bottom left of the screen. (See 2C of Figure 2)

  • Option 1: Each section of land has a black dot located in the middle of the section. To view the Township, Range, and Section number, simply scroll the cursor on top of the dot (See 1A of Figure 3) and the info will be displayed in the status bar at the top of the screen. (See 1B of Figure 3)
  • Option 2: You can also view the Township, Range, and Section number for any parcel by selecting the enter button on your GPS. With the arrow located on the area of interest, select the 'enter' button on your GPS (location varies depending on your GPS model). (See 2A of Figure 4 for an example.) This will display a list containing all of the information for the location you have selected. (See 2B of Figure 4) To exit out of this list, hit the 'quit' button (once again this varies depending on your GPS model). (See 2C of Figure 4)
