This product is great! For the past few years a rancher had been tell us his property line ran threw some prime prong horn land. Come to find out thanks to your product, his property line was about 1.5 mile off. after contacting the BLM we soon got it sorted. Thank you

Great Tool

Review by James
I hunt an area in national forest that borders both BLM and private land. This is a must have for public land hunters that are required to know where they are at all times. Having private land contact info is brilliant! Getting current private land contact info is worth the price of keeping up with the updates alone.

Excellent detail

Review by Steve
Being the first time user this year, my son and I were able to identify a corner of BLM land which contained a water source. By using regular maps, we would have been uncertain of it's true location. Able to set up blind and be successful, great product, fast and accurate.

Well Done!

Review by Christopher
I am new to the Hunting GPS Maps community and am sorry I didn't start sooner! what an excellent product/tool. I used this on the 2013 Archery Elk hunt here in CO and it was incredible helpful in identifying exact boundary locations where no fences exist.! Although there is some missing data on specific land ownership it has proved very beneficial!
I have also been using it to plan future scouting and hunting trips.
I will be purchasing more states in the future and have decided to upgrade my GPS to the newer touch screens as well!

A big help

Review by Ryan
I have been using this product for a couple years and it has been a huge help. I don't just use it for hunting, I use it for work and for when I am out on ATVs. The only thing I would do different would be to get the SD card instead of the download. One of the downloads did not take but still counted against me.

Review by Lance
This map in 2012 allowed me to find a finger on a state park that stuck into the surrounding private ground that the deer traveled everyday and not many people realized that it was public ground. I realize it sounds cliche but this map works and is worth every penny. If you hunt anywhere remotely close to privately owned land this is a must have!

Inacurate property and ownership

Review by Mike
In the Gunnison area some private property is over a mile out of location. Some ownership is over fifty years old.

I'm a believer

Review by james
We hunted muzzle loader season in Western Co. BLM next to private with no marked boundary and lots of jogs in the P.L. and I had the perfect tool. I shot a bull in heavy oak brush a mile and a half walk from camp and couldn't take my atv back the same route. So I set a waypoint at the bull and when I got to the atv I figured out a route that was about 6.5 mile drive that got me within a 1/4 mile of him. Finding him, especially alone and from a different direction, would have ALOT harder if not for my little buddy.

great product!

Review by Jason
This product was given to me as a gift from my wife and it has been awesome. I have been able to find new hunting areas that I didn’t know even existed. With the Garmin gps I have you can look at topo maps for the whole state of Colorado and it even tells you which hunting zone you’re looking at. A great feature when figuring out which area you want to hunt the following year. Accuracy has been amazing and very helpful to avoid any costly mistakes with trespassing or crossing a zone line by accident. I would recommend this product to anyone to who hunts, camps, hikes, fishes or even just likes the latest gadget. Great scouting tool when you don’t have a lot of free time to get away or when you live out of the state you’re hunting in.

Job Saver!

Review by Spencer
As Game Warden in Oklahoma of several years, I am required to know laws, rights and wrongs. If I commit a wildlife violation, I lose my job, period. On a recent elk/grouse hunt in NW Colorado the land was 80% BLM and the rest mostly owned by one contankerous landowner. My hunting partner (another warden) and I were chasing some bugling elk and got caught in a severe rain/sleet/snow storm. The temperature dropped from 57 degrees to 34 in a short time. Using my Garmin Oregon 650t and my Hunt Colorado gps chip we headed back to the truck taking the quickest route possible while staying off private land. We were over 2 miles from the truck and in rapidly decreasing conditions. A guide and some hunters driving on the private land spotted us and came mudding down to us. In a brief conversation the guide made it clear that trespass on the private land would not be tolerated even in these conditions. I pulled my gps out and promptly showed the guide he had just driven 30ft into a nonmotorized area on BLM. We asked him if we could pay him to take us to our truck, he declined and pealed out and nearly got stuck getting back to the private road. We made it back to the truck, both suffering from beginning stages of hypothermia, but otherwise okay. We slowly warmed up and had an incredible hunt the rest of our trip. Thanks to Hunting GPS Maps for keeping us in the right place!

Awesome Product!

Review by Josh
Can't say enough great things about this product! It sets your mind at ease knowing your not trespassing or breaking laws. I even found public lands that were marked as private by greedy landowners. My wife wouldn't have shot her first bull without this product. All of my hunting buddies have now purchased this and love it also! Incredibly accurate and easy to update, easy installation as well. A must have for any avid outdoorsman and hunter!

Incredible accuracy

Review by Tony
I hunt north east Colorado and the area is a checkerboard of state lease land, BLM and Private property. In the past it has been almost impossible to know for certain if you were 15 yards inside or 15 yards outside of public land. Many land owners will post the corners of public land giving the impression that you cannot obtain access. I have
Located many BLM and survey markers and the GPS maps are incredibly accurate! I look forward to the upcoming season and approaching my favorite areas with complete confidence of where I can and cannot hunt. Easy to install, easy to use! Two thumbs up, best investment to date, thank you!

Doesn't work for me

Review by Bryan
Hunt Colorado work great for 2 days. Then it crashed my Garmin nuvi 3790 coming back from a pheasant hunt. Then it crashed every 10 minutes. Then every 2 - 3 minutes. I called Garmin, they said it was huntinggpsmaps problem. I emailed huntinggpsmaps and no response. Last year I went to buy a new chip, but had the store try it out first. Same problem. I'm frustrated. Now I can't even find the chip.

A must have

Review by Evan
I have the Colorado hunt maps in my Garmin and it is the one thing i make sure is on every hunting trip I go on, be it, big game, waterfowl or small game. It is extremely accurate and easy to use and my favorite part about it is, it shows the landowner information which has helped me tremendously locate and contact landowners for permission. Absolute must have.

Use for Upland and Big Game

Review by BigGame
I was 26 miles in on a four wheel drive road. I was approached by two horsemen saying I was hunting on private property. I quickly pulled my Garmin with Hunt Colorado out of the truck and explained that the property I was on belonged to the US Forest Service and I marked a waypoint. Once they realized I worked for the Colorado Parks and Recreation, they backed off quickly. I reported this to the CPW Regional office and a citation was issued for hunter harassment. I have never had a problem since with that particular ranch. I would never, ever be without the Hunting GPS Maps again during a hunting season.

This has proved to be useful for pre-scouting in eastern Colorado for upland birds. I often am able to contact land owners for permission to hunt prior to the season simply by using the names provided by the Hunting GPS Maps and looking them up using my cell phone. I call first, and then make a personal contact. If I get a favorable response, I have the landowner complete a courtesy card (supplied by CPW) and I keep half the card to prove that I have received permission to hunt his/her property.

Used on a UTV trail ride

Review by charlie
My wife and I used this on a UTV trail ride this summer. It was great. The map showed way more than the paper maps that we had. I cant wait to take it back to CO on a hunt. Thats when I think it will really shine. I would and do recommend it to any one .

Makes Navigating Easy

Review by SHR
The Hunting GPS Maps is unbelievable. It transforms your GPS into a fully functional topographical map with numerous additional features that are not found anywhere else (e.g. GMU boundaries and property ownership). On a recent archery hunt in Colorado, I shot a bull elk that ran approximately a mile. It ended up falling on private property. By using the Hunting GPS Maps card, I was able to determine the name of the landowner, contact the Colorado State Troopers who worked with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to get permission for me to enter the landowners property. I was harvesting the Elk within 2 hours of shooting it. I could not imagine hunting, camping, or hiking without this card installed in my GPS.

Used in elk hunting CO GREAT

Review by Nancy
Used this in my GPS while elk hunting CO. This let me be very close to private land while still in public hunting ground to catch elk slipping in and out of the private. Well thought out and easy to interpret in the field! Thanks so much!!!

I can’t imagine hunting Colorado or Wyoming without it!

Review by David
I downloaded the Colorado map 3 years ago .It allows me scout out my hunting terrain (Google Earth) and access points from my computer in West Virginia. I find the area I would like to hunt, ad a way point and transfer it to my GPS. Most people only hunt the large blocks of land since boundaries are almost impossible to determine in the field but this allows me to get back in the small pockets that are not hunted each year. I can’t imagine hunting Colorado or Wyoming without it!

This product proved invaluable while hunting a checkerboard unit 2 years ago. It again showed off when hunting an area I was unable to scout prior to going in. I could reference the GPS and know where I was with confidence, every time.

Priceless tool for hunting and scouting

Review by Paul
I purchased the CO chip for my Garmin GPS last year and used for my elk hunt. Purchased the update this year and used it during a scouting trip. I found several new areas of BLM land I plan to hunt this fall. I found it very accurate and helpful with the land owner names. Must have when hunting public land that borders private.

Must have unless you hunt in limitless public land

Review by Dave
Must have tool to ensure that you know where you are relative to Private lands at all times when hunting. Lots of little pockets that are not always posted and having the Hunting GPS Maps chip in my GPS is critical for me. I'd hate to see an awesome hunt spoiled by a simple mistake or end up where I should not be by accident.

Best purchase ever for GPS accessory

Bought chip for my garmin and really helped me on my last elk hunt. Hunted private land right on the public land border. so knowing where you were was utmost importance. when in doubt whipped out the gps and knew I was ok...

worth it's weight in gold.

Review by David
I purchased the chip last year and installed in a Garmin 60CSX with no problem. Went hunting and with the help of the chip I was able to dispute some private vs. state land with an owner.
The land owner was impressed with the accuracy of the GPS and asked about the HuntingMap program and how to purchase his own, and of course I told him all about it and how to purchase a chip. I use my GPS almost all year long wheather hunting or fishing or just out for a long walk in the woods. Thank You for a product that actually works and keeps me on track.

Best GPS add on for hunting

Review by Andreas
The download version is the best systems for GPS I ever bought if it comes to hunting.
As long as your batteries in the GPS are good the software will tell you exactly whether you're, on public or private land. It came very handy last year when I was hunting in close proximity to private land.
With the download version you can precisley plan your hunt at home on the pc.
I'll get the WY maps for the Antelope season next.

Great product but do your homework

Review by Nicholas
I purchased the micro sd chip for my GPS and used it constantly this spring and summer to plan my CO elk hunting trips from my computer. My only caution is relying on the trails. I jumped off a trail the first week of archery season and tried to jump back on ~2 miles down the road. 1/2 a mile and 1000 vertical feet from where the trail was marked, I finally found it. Unfortunately my hard map that I purchased showed the exact same trail path so someone messed up on this one. I've had other experiences like this as well where there are marked trails that aren't actually there. I guess boots on the ground before the season would have been helpful but that's not always possible. All in all, I love this product. Just be a smart hunter/outdoorsman and do your homework.
